Upper DenturesHere at Dental Care Burlington, we are dedicated to helping our patients who are missing teeth restore function and gain confidence in their smile.

For patients with tooth loss, we can fabricate a custom-made, removable appliance to replace all of your missing teeth. Dentures are fabricated with acrylic resin materials and porcelain or plastic teeth in order to closely mimic your natural teeth.

Dentures can restore function and provide excellent esthetics for those patients who are missing teeth, helping you get back to eating the foods you like and boosting your self-confidence.

The process of getting dentures can take several weeks and usually requires multiple appointments. It starts with getting accurate impressions and measurements so the denture can be custom made for your mouth. There are usually several try-in appointments to check for color, shape, and function. Speech and esthetics are especially important for upper dentures. Your dentist will adjust the fit at your final seating appointment.

At first, you may experience some soreness, increased saliva, or difficulty speaking or chewing. This will improve over time as your muscles and tissues get used to the appliance. Upper dentures tend to be easier to get used to than lower dentures. They can get good suction from the palate in the upper jaw. Because of this, patients tend to adapt more easily to the upper denture.

We will go over the proper care and cleaning of your new appliance and address any issues during your regular visits so you are getting the most out of your new denture. It’s important to wear the denture as instructed so that your mouth can adapt to the appliance.

Dentures are made with durable materials and can last years. At times, they may have to be repaired, refit, or adjusted due to changes in your soft tissue or gums.
