This is important to keep your gums in place. Often, with enough tartar, your gums will pull away from your teeth, leaving a pocket that will fill up with food and bacteria.
After a thorough cleaning, we polish your teeth so that they look much better. There are times when we apply fluoride to your teeth. We also use this time to ensure that any teeth that have been restored are preserved.
During these visits, we are also looking for any problems. It is much easier to fix small problems then if we wait until they are bigger ones (or even an emergency situation). We will also talk to you to see if you are having any problems that we need to address. If necessary, we can also discuss home care to ensure that your teeth stay as healthy as possible.
